Located in the picturesque valley near the Douro River the site is known for its lovely, blooming almond trees and wine.
Portugal is also home to featured jewelry designer Eleuterio Antunes.
The industry juggernauts, as I like to call them, such as Piaget, Cartier and Van Cleef &
Arpels set the standard for classic design.
Talented, experienced craftsmen are enlisted to produce creations that are elegant yet dynamic. Likewise, ninety-year-old Portuguese fine jewelry brand, Eleuterio, is built on the lilting beauty of filigree the designs of which are developed by Susana Martins.

Namesake and founder Eleuterio Antunes built the brand on
innovation and dedication to high quality; principles that still guide the luxury
brand. Inspired by Art Deco patterns,
Byzantine motifs and Venetian architecture these immaculate creations of
18-karat white rose or yellow gold and diamonds exemplify timeless modern
design.

“The brand was founded in Travassos, Portugal a region known for ancient jewelry craft traditions,” says owner Luis Antunes. “We wanted to re-invent filigree to make it more modern. We combine the traditions of the past with a contemporary look that is a unique blend of ancestral lines and sophistication.”
Though rising gold prices challenged the brand to redefine
its marketing and clientele base, Eleuterio
still remains a premier producer of superlative filigree jewelry.
“Designs are made in-house by craftsmen with
decades of experience in the art of handmade,” says Luis Antunes. “We are committed to sustainable growth and
innovation.”
