The city is known not only for its plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables but also for its array of stunning flowers.
Lebanon is also home to featured jewelry designer Nada Ghazal.
Ghazal’s 10-year old high-end fine jewelry brand, Nada G, highlights a classic yet plush
style that boasts nuanced details with haute, cosmopolitan flair. Her largely sculptural style is all about
flowing curves and movement.
Made from 18-karat yellow and white gold design ideas from
the lithe calligraphic doughy silhouettes of her Aya Collection to the clear-cut openwork of her Matrix Collection are elegantly
dynamic.
In addition to gemstone accents of rubies, blue sapphires,
and opals, Ghazal makes use of the unique icy diamonds. These diamonds feature heavy inclusions and
impurities that provide the stones with a distinct color.
The jeweler’s artistic predilection was shaped at the age of
6 while she watched her grandmother crochet.
“I could watch her for hours on end and never tire,” she recalls. “The first time she held my hand against the
needle and guided me to tie my first knot was a wonderful feeling. I knew then I wanted to be an artisan.”
Ghazal’s first step toward jewelry making would come about
two years later at the age of eight.
However, many years would pass before she would fully immerse herself
into the world of all that glitters.

In 1994, after receiving a degree in advertising design from
the Lebanese American University, the
future jewelry designer worked for 10 years at a Dubai advertising firm. While still employed, in 2002 she made her
first collection of bracelets, necklaces and rings from crocheted 18-karat gold
string and gemstones.
The following year she displayed the pieces at a public
forum where they sold out in less than 3 days!
By the time she left her job in advertising, in 2004, Ghazal was ready
to launch a full-fledged jewelry brand.
“I refer to my collections and my work as nothing less than
utter passion, and above all, a true labor of love,” she enthuses.
“I wanted a brand that was personal, authentic and that transcribed my emotions into something distinctive, timeless and fascinating. I have always been a meticulous person seeking perfection.”
